Hittites were a well-ordered society who established a strong empire concentrated on Hattusa and is a subject of the Old Testament. They are also known as the first people who worked iron in Anatolia and lasted almost a thousand years. Following the collapse of the Hittite Empire, the Kingdom of Urartu emerged around Lake Van in eastern Turkey and are known as masters of metallurgy, playing a vital role in shaping the history of Eastern Anatolia.
